The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is searching for an experienced, skillful Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN III, entry level nursing supervisor) to fill a very challenging and rewarding vacancy at the Wrentham Developmental Center.
The Wrentham Developmental Center (facility) is a state facility operating 7 days a week/24 hours a day serving the needs of intellectual and physically challenged individuals who live in a residential setting at the facility.
This level of nursing will be required to provide direct supervision to the LPN I, LPN II, RN I and RN II staff assigned to the 2:45pm to 11:15 pm shift. The position is assigned to the Nursing Administrative Office and the RN III would assist in the coordination of the delivery of nursing services to an assigned unit(s) and will assist in providing supervision to the assigned shift throughout the facility. The selected incumbent will provide overall direction in the delivery of nursing services within the assigned units by assisting with assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing services delivered to the residents within the assigned unit.
Responsibilities for this position also include participation in direct clinical nursing services and indirect nursing services including providing training and information to staff regarding Nursing Department and Facility Policies and Procedures. Ensures Compliance with DDS, State and Federal Regulations and perform audits to measure the quality of nursing care provided. Provide facility-wide supervision as needed. Communicate with off-site Physicians and utilize established Nursing procedures, policies and protocols to meet the health care needs of the residents. Other responsibilities continual communication/collaboration with staff at all levels throughout the facility to ensure continuity of care and other required/requested duties.
A criminal background check (CORI) will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired. In addition, Chapter 234 of the Acts of 2014, An Act Requiring National Background Checks, requires the Department of Developmental Services to conduct fingerprint-based check of the state and national criminal history databases on the recommended candidate. ALL EMPLOYEES ARE PAID ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS AND MUST HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT.
SCHEDULE:
Full time 40 hour weekly position
Working 2nd shift (Evening shift) - 2:45 pm to 11:15 pm
Days off: Every other weekend off with days off in the alternate weeks to meet the needs of the service. Flexibility in work schedule required in order to meet the supervisory coverage needs of the Nursing Department.
This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" Position in the Department of Developmental Service's Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work.
"This position is in a program that operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Department of Developmental Services requires employees in this position to be able to perform mandatory overtime when circumstances dictate the need."

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a recognized hospital, clinic or medical facility, and (B) six months of which must have been in a supervisory, administrative or managerial capacity.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL LEVELS IN SERIES: Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
Recent graduates from an approved school of nursing must have applied for the first available registered nurse examination.
Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
