Overview
The Asleep Overnight Counselor works with the Awake Overnight Counselor to support people with developmental disabilities during the overnight and morning hours. The Asleep Overnight counselor may sleep during the overnight hours, but is available in the event of crisis. During the morning hours, the Asleep and Awake Overnight Counselors work together to give medications, assist with personal hygiene, prepare meals, and provide transportation. This position begins at 11pm and ends at 9am.
Responsibilities
  1. Provide support and direction for individuals requiring nighttime assistance
  2. Implement all procedures that ensure safety of individuals.
  3. Implement evacuation procedures during drills and emergencies.
  4. Assist individuals with all morning routines and implement all plans.
  5. Implement individuals' medical and medication protocols.
  6. Assist people to access and/or provide all needed transportation.
  7. Review and complete all required documentation.
  8. Communicate pertinent information to stakeholders.
  9. Ensure safety and cleanliness of the physical site.
  10. Support all program expectations and procedures.
  11. Maintain all required certifications
  12. Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. At least six months paid or volunteer experience in Social Services field preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
